Work really great! I kept this device because 1. I'm lazy... and 2. it is very light weight and not bulky making it easy to take with me if i need to work on laptop hard drives and help troubleshoot a laptop, as well as move information off. I haven't used it enough to test it's durability, but so far it seems like it will hold up (being that it's in my case of things i use for tech, which i dig through often,) it hasn't broke yet.

I bought it because my MacBook Pro would start up with the notorious folder with the question mark on it meaning it wasn’t recognizing the internal hard drive as the startup disk. Even starting in recovery mode (Cmd+R) would not work and I could not reinstall the OS or recover from time machine on external drive because the computer simply would not recognize the hard drive. I bought a replacement internal SATA connector for my MacBook because I figured the cord may have gone bad.
In the meantime, I thought that if I purchased this adapter that I could remove the internal Samsung EVO 850 SSD hard drive, plug it into the adapter end and then the USB cord into the computer. My hope was that it would start up because the new cord recognized the hard drive (meaning it wasn’t damaged itself) and I could backup my hard drive to my external drive just in case the internal component I planned to fix didn’t work out. At least I’d have a current back up.
Well it was a total success!! Thank God. Not only did it work flawlessly, I was able to create a current backup and then fixed the problem internally. It was a best case scenario. It’s convenient to have one of these on hand as you can run your internal hard drive externally by plugging into USB. I definitely recommend the product.

Worked perfectly. Was able to clone my hard drive to my new SSD with no issue using this. Just a word of warning to the unsuspecting person. This is meant for a 2.5 inch drive (i.e. laptop sized drive). The larger 3.5 inch (desktop sized drives) require more power than this cable can provide thru USB 3.0 alone. Only found this out when putzing around out of curiosity.

Can connect ssd drives to any usb port. Cannot use normal drives there is not enough power to drive them. It's a life saver! Use it with an adaptor and connect an SSD to your Mobile!!

This is a 6 day review. Works great with Xbox one x. I'm using a wd 500gb ssd. The only negative so far is the cable length. Since the x blows the hot air out the back where all your inputs are. The short cord does not distance the SSD from the heat of the x. Not a huge issue yet, I just have nowhere else to rest the SSD with my setup. I don't regret the purchase at all. Instant loads, and smooth games.

This thing is awesome, such a valuable tool for an IT guy like me. What I especially love is that it does not require drivers to work. I am able to boot into Clonezilla to back up my Hackintosh boot SSD to an external spinner that I keep in case an update borks the system. I also have my windows desktop, and linux laptop boot ssd's backed up on the same drive as well. Man this thing is great. Do note though, the cable is short. I wanted this one specifically for that reason, but some people may not.

I had a few SSDs sitting around that I wasn't using and this interface turned them into great portable external drives for my laptop. Very pleased with the construction and transfer speeds. Windows 10 recognizes it no problem.

Used this cable to install my new SSD in my laptop. It worked with USB 3.0 port on my laptop and Macrium Reflect software. It has nice blue and red light next to it, which made me comfortable knowing it was working. For the price, you can't beat it!

Works well... No cons at all... All pros...
It is what it is though. Just a lonely ole SATA III to USB adapter/connector used to migrate and/or clone hard drives from an old worn out mechanical hard drive, to a modern, 5 x's faster SSD drive. If you update hard drives alot, you will find this adapter very useful. The price is very reasonable. Great product.

Usb to sata , used it to connect a hard drive with errors , will also use it to transfer data easily, if you are doing this to recover data on a windows error drive there is a little more then just connecting , best to use a computer with lots of memory and then you will need to grant permissions.

Does exactly what I was expecting ... plug it into the USB port on a computer and into the SATA drive connection on another hard drive. My computer recognized the the other hard drive immediately and I copied the information off as needed. That was it!
