It was exactly as advertised. Saved us hours of time edging instead of having to do it all with a brush. Was it a perfect edge every time? No. Was it just as good or better than I could do by hand in a quarter of the time? Absolutely. Definitely worth it and will not paint without it in the future!
*Disclaimer: it was next to impossible to get it completely clean after a full day of use, but swapping out the roller and the little brush the next day to use a different color worked fine. The dried paint on the plastic parts was not an issue and the roller and brush popped right off at the end of the day.
I've tried several other corner edgers and they have done a horrible job. This product surprised me - it did a very good job doing edges. I was repainting a cathedral ceiling and this was a huge time saver. This worked great around doors and windows as well as ceiling/ wall edges.
It is very important to follow directions. Clean the walls before painting to make sure there is no dust or it can build up on the edging brush and smear. I changed the brushes frequently to avoid issues. Keep all the wheels on the wall and be sure to keep the shield clean and it will work good.
I would give this five stars.
Overall very impressed. Saved me hours of time.
I'm actually surprised at how well this works. This product is amazing because it doesnt ruin my railing seen on the picture. Its really a clean pait looks like a pro with this product. And after the railings on the stair I have vaulted ceilings and I wasn't sure if it would work at the point where the wall meets the ceiling because it would be more than 90 degrees. But it works great! The swivel on the pole is perfect for me so I don't have to be up so high on the ladder. It takes a few times to get used to holding the pole with the trimmer attached up on the wall (with the swivel and all) but I haven't had any mistakes on my railings.
When I first got it, I was amazed. I was able to finish a room with 12' ceilings in record time. I used it along the ceiling, door frames, window frames, and baseboard no problem. I even bought extra rollers and brushes. I never had a problem with it bleeding onto the ceiling or frames because every time I brought it down to refill the roller, I just wipe the edge, it was very easy.
I just completed painting 3 rooms and have to mention that this product saved me a lot of time. Plus the lines at the ceiling and floor molding is straight and clean. I highly recommend this product.
I am blown away with this product. I have a 15 foot high high pitched vaulted ceiling. There are 4 brown exposed beams with 4 feet of space between them. I tried taping and the white paint showed up on some of the beams. And behind on a 10 foot ladder added to the difficulty. When I tried it, I wasn't expecting much. But I was surprised. It painting a great trim. Just like the ad claimed. It cut down my painting time and forget about that prep work. I am so happy I bought this, it is worth every penny.
Value for the money. It is very easy to use and does a fantastic job. I even used it to cut in around tile. It's also easy to clean. I cannot express how impressed I am. This tool is a time saver.
Great time saver. Great product. Especially when using a stick for where the walls meet high ceilings. It took me a few minutes to get the hang of it. For the last stroke, the roller is supposed to follow the brush. I recommend this product. Am hooked for life. Won't ever go back to taping off ceilings on a ladder.
First off, I must admit that I hate edging. I will roll all day, but hate edging. To me it is what makes the paint job look good or bad - professional or garbage. Pair this with any relevant OCD and you have a recipe for disaster. With that said, it is nearly impossible to perfectly edge/cut with a paintbrush - it will be wavy to a degree. Sure, you can attempt in using a piece to block it or use tape, but really, those have their issues as well. With the paint blocker you will get paint seem through and get on the back of your edger, then when you move along you will distrubute that paint elsewhere. With tape, your paint seeps through/under at points, especially if you have textured walls.
With that said, this is as good as you can get with relative ease. Is it perfect? No. Does it work pretty damn well. YES!
I bought this for a base wall outside my house that was about 25 feet high. Great for windows , it doesnt ruin them. But I practiced first on a lower ceiling line to get the hang of it and then did the high work. I was painting the wall brown against a white ceiling so I wanted a nice clean line. It worked great and was fairly simple to use.
Used this for painting the edges of a deck up against the house, had my doubts at first, but it worked out just fine. This really healped me with my 30 feet wall, did a good job without a lot of problems or mess. You'll need to practice on reachable walls before tackling the high wall and ceilings.
I am amazed that this thing could edge the top of my garage and all I needed was a 12 foot pole. I had to do a little touch up the old fashioned way (ladder, brush, nerves of steel). But I am soooo glad I bought this. I will say that the cleaner your corners and trim are, the smoother the final result will be.
Amazing product. Well made! No more masking tape! It works in my house. Takes patience to do it right. It does save time. Makes good edges.
